Oliver White cruises to Heritage double at Snetterton

Oliver White continued his domination of the Zig Zag Lighting Ltd Heritage Formula Ford Championship at Snetterton with another comfortable victory in race two.

Race two was held in light drizzle, in improved conditions to the first race, and championship leader White led from start-to-finish to win by 29.789 seconds in his Van Diemen.

“I scored maximum points, which is the aim for the championship,” said White afterwards. “The car was perfect all day”.

White’s Souley Motorsport team-mate Peter Lucas bounced back from his race one spin to take second after making up places from fifth on the grid.

Lucas took second place from Mike Gardner halfway through the race, but then got sideways which caused Gardner to spin as he took avoiding action, leading to race-ending suspension damage to his Crossle 32F.

“Lucas got it really sidewards and I thought he was going to spin and, to avoid hitting him I’ve come off the power and spun myself and went into the barrier,” reflected Gardner.

Neil Hunt repeated his result from the first race by finishing third, a further 30s behind Lucas.

Simon Davey again just missed out on a podium finish in fourth, but took Class B honours in his Van Diemen.

Alan Fincham ran in eighth early on, but made up places during the race to finish fifth in a Van Diemen.

Graham Woodin pipped Class B championship leader Scott Guthrie to seventh place overall by 0.229s.

David Roark and Ben Hadfield finished eighth and ninth respectively, both driving Van Diemens.
