Jonathan Browne secures first pole at Oulton Park

Jonathan Browne scored his first pole position in the Avon Tyres BRSCC National FF1600 at the second round of the season at Oulton Park.

The Irishman jumped to the top of the timesheets halfway through the session for Cliff Dempsey Racing with a time of 1m47.614s, lapping just 0.018s faster than team-mate James Clarke.

Ross Martin, who led the early part of the session, ended up third fastest for Team Dolan, just 0.001s shy of Clarke.

Championship leader Spike Kohlbecker qualified fourth, three tenths further behind, for Cliff Dempsey Racing.

Neil MacLennan and Rory Smith, who both won a race at the opening round at Snetterton, qualified in fifth and sixth respectively.

Two time F1 Esports champion Brendan Leigh was the fastest rookie driver in seventh,while rookie class leader Scott Huntley qualified in 13th place.

Max Morzarati was the fastest driver in the Clubman class, qualifying in 12th overall, with the only other entrant in the class Nigel Dolan failing to set a time after returning to the pits early in the session.
