Jordan Gronkowski claimed a dominant second successive Scottish FF1600 pole position this year, beating Matt Chisholm by nearly a full second.
Championship leader Gronkowski traded fastest times with the Mygale of Kenny Cowie early in the 12-minute session, before lowering the benchmark to a 53.292s, some 0.977s quicker than his Van Diemen stablemate Chisholm.
Cowie only managed seven laps in his MCK machine, with his best effort of a 54.675s earning him fourth on the grid, 1.383s shy of Gronkowski’s pole time.
Splitting Chisholm and Cowie was the Graham Brunton Racing Ray of Logan Hannah, who recorded her best FF1600 qualifying to date with a final effort of 54.566s.
Neil Broome recovered from a slow start to the session to end up fifth on the grid behind Cowie in his Ray, albeit 1.394s shy of Gronkowski’s best.
GBR duo Steven Barlow and rookie Cameron Thomson ended up on the back row of the grid as just seven tenths split six cars.
