Oliver White claimed the Champion of Brands title from Rory Smith in dramatic style after passing his rival at the final corner in race two at Donington Park
It completes a successful weekend for White, who won both of yesterday’s Zig Zag Lighting Heritage Formula Ford races.
Race one winner Smith lead away from pole into Redgate, while White dropped to fourth after losing places to Tom McArthur and Luke Cooper during the first lap.
White retook third from Cooper on lap two and then passed McArthur for second before the safety car was deployed – after B-M Racing team-mate Nicole Woods spun to a halt at Coppice.
The race resumed with two laps to go, with White and Smith going side by side into the chicane on the final lap and, despite both running wide onto the grass, White was able to cross the line in first place while Smith dropped to fifth.
Tom McArthur claimed his second podium of the day in second place, finishing just 0.097s behind White at the line.
Thomas Cappezzone claimed the final spot on the podium in third, with David McArthur recovering from eighth on the grid to finish fourth.
Despite running strongly early on, Cooper retired from the race after his engine lost power.
Jaap Blijleven and Max Marzorati, starting at the back after their race one incident, both made strong recoveries, finishing 10th and 11th respectively.
Abbie Munro, making her single seater-racing debut this weekend, finished in 13th place.
