Rory Smith made amends for race one as he claimed a comfortable victory in the second race of the Avon Tyres BRSCC Northern Formula Ford Championship at Oulton Park.
Race one winner and Team Dolan driver Ross Martin led into Old Hall Corner after starting from pole position.
But B-M Racing’s Smith, who failed to find a way past Martin in the first race, managed to get by this time after diving up the inside of Martin into Knickerbrook corner for the lead on lap two.
Once in front, two-time Scottish FF1600 champion Smith was able to show the pace which had secured him pole position earlier in the day as he pulled away to take the win by 1.8 seconds from Martin.
Jack Wolfenden repeated his race one result with a third place finish, a further five seconds adrift of the leaders in his Myerscough College run Firman RFR17, with Jamie Sharp finishing fourth for Team Dolan.
Morgan Quinn finished a distant fifth, a further 10 seconds behind Sharp, with Nigel Dolan in sixth.
Neil McArthur crossed the finish line in seventh, but it was a disappointing race for his two sons. Tom McArthur again failed to start the race after a crash in qualifying left him on the sidelines for race one, while David McArthur failed to finish due to a technical issue, having ran in seventh place early on.
Andrew Schofield again won the the Super Classic B class, finishing in 9th overall, with Bruceie Juiceie finishing second in class and tenth overall.
Phil Nelson and Seamus Wild, the sole runners in Super Classic D and Super Classic A respectively, finished in 14th and 16th places.
