Team Dolan has increased the number of drivers it will run during the 2019 BRSCC Avon Tyres National FF1600 season to five, with Max Marzorati driving a Van Diemen RF01.
The Brit made his National FF1600 debut at the Donington Park finale last year, replacing the newly crowned champion Niall Murray. He managed a best result of eighth in the third and final race of the meeting.
The former Renault Clio Junior racer, who secured a third-place championship finish in the aforementioned series in 2017, has currently pencilled in a five-event National FF1600 season.
His anticipated schedule includes the season opener at Snetterton, Oulton Park, Silverstone and both Brands Hatch rounds. The Brit also plans to contest the Formula Ford Festival with Dolan.
Marzorati will also tackle all of the Champion of Brands races in his Van Diemen, but competing with the PW Racing squad instead of Dolan.
Though he also sampled racing a Swift at the FFord Festival last year, Marzoarti indicated Dolan’s recent title streak was an important factor in his decision.
“I have loved my move to Formula Ford 1600 so far, ” he said.
“The cars are so engaging and there is so much to learn, it really is the best place to learn to drive cars that rely heavily on mechanical grip.
“I am looking forward to learning from Team Dolan, who have won the National championship in three out of the last four years.”
Bernard Dolan, Team Dolan owner, suggested his performance while substituting for newly crowned champion Murray was a sign of things to come.
“We enjoyed having Max with us last year at Donington and were impressed with how quickly we came on whilst he was with us with so little experience.
“We feel he could surprise many established stars this season.”
