Oldfield Motorsport has announced Scott Huntley as its third and final driver for the 2019 BRSCC Avon Tyres National Formula Ford 1600 season.
Essex-based 17-year-old Huntley will be making his debut in single seaters this year after spending five seasons in karts.
Huntley finished third overall in the BirelART UK Junior series last year, repeating the same feat he had achieved in 2016 under the series’ former guise, EasyKart UK Junior.
He had tested for Oldfield ahead of the announcement and is said to have impressed immediately, with Oldfield citing Huntley’s “consistent driving and skill” and ability to quickly adapt to its Van Diemen JL13.
Huntely joins former Team USA Scholar Aaron Jeansonne and part-timer Henry Chart in Oldfield’s line up for National FF1600 this year. Huntley’s season will get underway at Snetterton on April 20.
