Three-time Walter Hayes Trophy winner Joey Foster is expecting a “mightily competitive” battle for victory in this year’s event.
Don Hardman Racing driver Foster won in 2003, ’04 and ’05, and was in contention for a record fourth victory last year before being struck by mechanical issues.
Alongside racing, he also acts as driver coach at Lanan Racing and to Formula 2 driver Arjun Maini.
“I’ve always said to the [Lanan] lads, come along to the Walter Hayes. Kush and Arjun [Maini] would both love to at some stage. They keep going on about it.
“So I keep pushing them, because they’ll just have fun with it. They watched Jamie Chadwick come back and do it last year. If a few more did that, I think you would get the BRDC British Formula 3 guys and a few others coming back and having a good crack. It’s going to be mightily competitive again this year.”
Lanan’s British F3 drivers Kush Maini and Joshua Mason would be used to WHT venue Silverstone, as it appears twice in the British F3 calendar, is Lanan’s primary testing venue and is where Mason made his BARC Luna Logistics Classic Formula Ford debut earlier this year.
