Richard Tarling showed off his newly-completed Jamun M92 at Brands Hatch by winning the Heritage Formula Ford race ahead of Ollie White.
Tarling won last year’s Historic Formula Ford title in a 1970 Jamun T2, and made his Heritage Formula Ford debut last weekend.
Preparing the 1992-designed M92 has been an ongoing project this year, with Jamun founder Tony Mundy also involved.
“He was the original builder,” said Tarling. “He’s built up this car from old stuff. We’ve been going through the year doing bits and bobs with it.
“We were determined to get it out this weekend, for the last Heritage race, in preparation for next year, and in preparation for the Walter Hayes Trophy.”
Henley-on-Thames driver Tarling has not quite decided his exact plans for November’s Walter Hayes Trophy.
“I am looking to do the pre-’93, or the Heritage section. But whether or not I do the Historic one as well, I don’t know.
“I need to look at the timetable and everything else to see what’s possible.”
Tarling played down the difference between his two Jamuns, despite the 22-year gap between the designs.
“At the end of the day it’s a racing car with four wheels,” he said. “Yes, it’s a different Formula Ford, but it’s still the same kind of thing.”
