White quickest in Heritage qualifying at Oulton Park

Oliver White led a highly competitive Jack Cavhill Heritage Formula Ford qualifying session at Oulton Park.

Van Diemen driver White, who has won three of the four races held so far, put in a 1m33.257s right at the end of the 15-minute session.

His closest challenger throughout was Calum McHale (Van Diemen), but regular Oulton competitor Jaap Blijleven went 0.052s quicker on his final lap to go second with his Reynard.

McHale held onto third, with the leading trio separated by just under half a second.

Sam Street was a further second behind in his Swift, with the top five rounded out by Thomas Brown’s Van Diemen.

Sixth went to John Murphy (Van Diemen), leading a very tightly bunched pack featuring Brian Soule, Neil Hunt, Liam McShane and Paul Barnes who completed the top 10.

Race one of two is due to be underway at 12.40pm, with 15 cars taking the start.
