White continues Heritage dominance in second Oulton Park race

Oliver White took his second lights-to-flag victory in as many races with a dominant drive in the final Jack Cavhill Heritage Formula Ford race at Oulton Park.

It was another textbook race from Van Diemen driver White, who got a clean start from pole and never looked back, coming home with a massive 17 second lead after 10 laps of Oulton’s Island layout.

White’s progress was helped by the battle for second place being as intense as it was in race one. Calum McHale and John Murphy led the four-car train, also featuring Jaap Blijleven and Thomas Brown, before Murphy got the better of McHale at Hislops on lap four.

McHale kept the pressure on Murphy right until the end, the pair split by 0.355s at the flag, and their strong pace allowed them to move clear of the Blijleven/Brown battle.

Oulton regular Blijleven held third briefly, having passed McHale, but after the positions changed again the Dutch driver fell into the clutches of Brown and they stayed tied together right until the end.

Brian Soule was sixth ahead of a close Swift/PRS battle as Sam Street beat Colin Williams to seventh.

David Porter was ninth ahead of Liam McShane, while behind them Dave Woodin and John Miller had a good scrap just outside the top ten.

After his accident in race one, Paul Barnes (Swift) was a non-starter.
