Medina driver Oliver White is effectively out of the Formula Ford Festival after being excluded for a second time during the first day of competitive action.
White had climbed from the back of the grid to sixth in the days third heat having had his qualifying times removed for failing to properly obey red flags. However, he was disqualified from the race due to overtaking or failing to slow under waved yellow flag conditions. He has been hit with four more points on his licence, taking the total for the day to eight.
With only the top 20 classified finishers from each heat being guaranteed a semi-final berth, White will need to hope for numerous withdrawals before Sunday’s racing begins, which seems unlikely.
Michael McPherson was promoted into sixth position, although he picked up a track limits time penalty himself.
