Oliver White, one of the pre-event favourites for the Formula Ford Festival, will have to battle from the back of the heat three grid after he was excluded from the qualifying session.
The 2015 WHT podium finisher, driving a 2017 Medina, was adjudged to have failed to comply with red flags during one of the stoppages this morning. He has been removed from the classification and instead of starting fifth will line up at the back of the grid with a 10s penalty. Luke Cooper is promoted one place, with Rory Smith now joining him on row three.
White’s position in Saturday’s semi-final is thus under threat; drivers need to finish the heats inside the top 20 to be sure of a place in the next round.
